Fabulous Ways With Fabrics At Halloween

With Halloween close by, it is time to get creative with fancy fabrics for some super scary fancy dress costumes. Whether you want to be a pumpkin, ghoul, ghost, witch or vampire – haberdasheries are home to a sumptuous range of fabrics that encompass every texture imaginable. We’re on a bit of a budget this year and recently replaced our faux suade blinds for verticals so that’s given us a bit of extra fabric. For something sexy, plump for some ultra-shiny black PVC and make a skin tight mini-skirt; teamed up with a corset, and some Halloween accessories, you are sure to be the sexiest witch at the party. For something a bit softer, but by no means less subtle, why not buy some furry fabric and make yourself a monster outfit. The great thing about furry fabric is that it comes in a range of crazy colours, so you can let your imagination run wild AND it is quick and simple to sew, so you can make a full suit in an afternoon. Simply add some eccentric accessories and of course, face paints or mask to transform yourself into a magnificent monstrosity. Fabrics are also a great way of adding a decorative touch to a Halloween party – pick up some grey netting and drape it in corners to get a spooky cobweb effect; or use it to create seasonal soft furnishings like pumpkin cushions; it will really add to the party atmosphere!
